Phishing Paypal Pirates
06.14.06 - 09:03pm
I have been rather busy rather lately so I haven’t had time to push out any good articles or any articles for that matter. However I have had time for a company to try and scam me which was great. Late tonight I was checking my email and I noticed an email from paypal. Now I thought this to be odd considering my hotmail account is with a different provider than my normal account. The second thing I noticed was the strange URL. After checking this out and conferring with my 9rules friends we came to the conclusion that this website was definitely trying to scam people. I contacted Paypal while my friend Trey Copeland contacted the host for this website, a7-cgi.com. He managed to record the conversation if you are interested to hear it. All in all, always be suspicious of websites asking for your information.

Wow. That’s me. Don’t click my site yet cause it’s not publicly released by myself yet.
Gotta love those fake paypal emails. I get so many of them that I typically never even look at emails from paypal, unless I know that I should be receiving a payment. The main difference between real and fake paypal emails is that the real ones don’t have login links.
You guys are like internet superheroes, looking out for the internet challenged.
Nice job on the call Trey. I noticed the site got taken down.
I don’t know about being an internet superhero but I sure was pissed when I noticed this email. The fact that it was so believeable besides the broken links really got to me. I just hope that nobody has fallen for it before we took it down. Rock on 9rules Internet Police.
