1. Love What You Do

Lately I’ve been getting this feeling that I have lost my magical touch, my muse has left me. Every time I write an article it just seems like the spice of life is missing. After some intense analysis, heated mental debates, and a healthy dose of raisin bran, I hit the digital street in search of this missing spice. While looking for this missing ingredient I came upon the 9 rules of 9rules. I have read them many times before but all I have done is read them, I have never spent time actually thinking. To help motivate myself I’ve decided to read each individual rule and think about them a bit and every time I feel a bit unmotivated I’ll select a new rule and take a time out. To kick off this festival of new wave thinking, we’ll start with number 1, “Love what you do”.
I have been told so many times to find a job you love, do what makes you happy, live life with a smile. This same idea can be applied to blogging, write about what you love and enjoy. I love technology, I love unique ideas, I love building stuff. Perhaps I need to get back to doing just that, playing with technology, writing about unique ideas, building stuff. It has been nearly 4 months since I put together something unique, crazy, and special and now I have no excuses. School is out for 10 days, I have no deadlines, and I have plenty of free time.
I just need to continue doing what I love and keep from writing just for the sake of writing. There needs to be a gust of change, a tidal wave of ideas. It is time to pump some life back into this blog and make it more of what I am and less of a chore. It is time to love what I do.
That sounds like a plan to me. You know what I love to do? Travel! So it’s off to Cambodia in 4 days!
(that’s so cool to say…)
Hear hear!
This is, by far, my favorite of the 9 rules. I think a blog is such a wonderful way to pass information along, and we all know that we’re more creative, more interesting, and more fun when we love what we’re doing. So I think it is quite awesome that you want to get back to your lovable roots. :) Much luck!
As long as you do what you love you will never go wrong in life. Find your passion and run with it. Please send me a copy of the nine rules. Would love to read them. Love, Mommy
