The Weekend

I decided to give myself a little break this weekend so that I could celebrate the start of football season properly and what a weekend it was. Georgia Tech put up a great fight against the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame(overrated anyone?) and I blame the loss on terrible calls made by the officials. I won’t go in too much depth here but when the crowd yells at the officials for a solid 5 minutes, you know it was a bad call. After the game I went and indulged in some Steak and Shake which was rather filling and helped take the edge off the game. The greasy fries and luscious shake helped bring me down from “I’m going to break stuff I’m so angry” to “I’m going to sit here and fume and plot evil deeds against all NCAA officials”. To finish the night/early morning we had Davin playing on campus, great guy, great band.

In less personal and more professional news I finally took the time (read 20 hours or so) to take a shot at using the command line interface with Linux which I must say was a rather pleasant adventure. For those of you that are interested, the temporary URL is gomeler.gotdns.org. I will be purchasing a real URL for my dev server within the next week but I’ll announce that when that happens. If the server isn’t up it usually means I’m dicking with the hardware or experimenting with something. I’ve started work on Gomeler: Chimaera revision and hopefully it’ll actually be pleasing to the eye, I will be asking for opinions in the near future. That is about it for right now, will pickup writing real stuff tomorrow as I am a bit slammed in regards to academics. Thanks for reading guys, writers need vacations also.

Had a few friends of mine help me hammer the server, it stood up to ~20-30 connections per second without crashing so I think it is safe to say it is stable. Now it is time to start working on an actual design. Feel free to check it out at http://gomeler.gotdns.org/
