Pink for October

No I have not gone crazy, I am actually attempting to do something good with this crazy design. Notice all the pink, take a look at your calendar and note the month. October is one of my favorite national months, besides hosting Halloween it is also National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. I think we can all agree that cancer sucks and that breasts are good so why not help fight cancer by raising awareness and helping research. A small portion of the websites that I have visited have been vowing to donate some or all of their revenue for the month towards cancer research and a large number of sites are sporting slick pink themes and awareness banners.

Due to the fact that I technically lose money running this website and make nothing from my advertising, I can’t offer any money to fight cancer however I can over computing power. I will be crunching 24/7 to help advance cancer research and who knows, perhaps a breakthrough will occur this month. It might not be as cool as being able to donate a couple hundred dollars but I’m trying to do my part, you should do the same!

Other News

This new theme took me a few days to throw together and I must admit I really like the color scheme. You may see Gomeler.com sporting the pink, grey, and black for a little bit longer than just October. There are a few little bugs that need to be sorted out once my Internet connection reaches a stable status as it is currently going up and down like a rollercoaster. One little update about the Lean Machine Dream Machine faceoff, a Maximum PC editor emailed me back saying they have disassembled their Dream Machine and distributed the parts to their editors. This means I will only have 5 benchmarks to compete against the Dream Machine which is a shame, perhaps in 2007 I can contact them before they build the machine and have some sort of real competition. That’s about it from here, back to your regularly scheduled Technology news and tips.

Wow. No offence, but this theme needs a heck of a lot of work, starting with the banner. :/

As well, you might want to download the ‘feed icon’ from http://feedicons.com, and change it to pink, as yours is missing a stripe. :P

I ran out of ideas on the banner, I agree it looks terrible :-\\ Right now my Internet is operating at sub-56k speeds and it is impossible to access my server via FTP so it\’ll continue to look terrible for a few more hours. Feel free to create suggestions rather than just state the obvious. How is the feed icon missing a stripe?

    Aww, y’all are mean.

Don’t listen to them, Chris! It looks great. And besides, it’s not about being cutting-edge or trendy; it’s about spreading the word. I love it. :)
