Five Gifts Meme
12.02.06 - 08:48pm
So once again I have been tagged with one of these meme things. I find them to be rather fun as it lets me be creative rather than analytical in my writing. This time around Devin Ream’s tagged me with his Five Gifts Meme, which asks to list 5 gifts you’d like for Christmas. Considering how broke I currently am, how many things I wish I had the money for, and how bleak my Christmas is looking this will be a good time to make the list of the impossible. Yes, I would love to have some cheese to go with my whine.
1. Skiing Trip to Colorado
It has been a long six years since I lived in Europe and had the chance to drive 2 hours to the Alps. In Georgia we are lucky if we get a sleet storm or two during winter, I have only seen snow twice since I have been here. I would love to drag Meagan on a trip out to Colorado and cut some fresh powder and have a little romantic get-a-way. Nothing more romantic than ski pants and huge jackets and slopes devoid of annoying young children running over your skis.
2. Free Tuition
I hate having to freeload off of my parents for the majority of my expenses. While I steadily hold a job down on campus I still hate the fact that my parents have to foot my bill at this damn institute while I consistently throw money away with failed classes. I really wish I ran into a large sum of money so that I could wean myself off of my parents. Unfortunately it doesn’t look like that’ll be happening until I land a real job that makes more than $12 an hour. Anyone looking for an apprentice? Will digitally commute.
3. A car
For being a poor as I am, I sure am picky. Due to the fact that I can’t see myself driving anything but a sports car it really limits my market for cars. Since a new car is out of the picture I have primarily focused on the best decade for automobiles, the 90s. My list of cars that I would drive is rather short with some examples being a 4th generation Supra, 300zx, 2nd generation 240sx, 3rd generation RX-7, 2nd generation Miata, and then maybe a classic muscle car (yeah, not 90s, but they have a place in my heart also). I really wish I had the money to prep one of the cars above and track race it, gasoline seems to run in my veins and I only need an outlet for the untapped passion. Hopefully all will go well this spring and I’ll make enough bank to fulfill one of my dreams.
4. More Time
One of my biggest problems is time management. I have a million ideas but I lack enough time to make these ideas become objects. Coupled with the lack of funding and most of those ideas get pushed onto my mental back burner as I go through my daily routine. Perhaps when I land a real job and have work-free weekends I’ll be able to bring some of my ideas to life.
5. My Girlfriend
It has been nearly 7 months since Meagan flew off to Thailand to study abroad. Thankfully she comes back in exactly two weeks. I desperately await her arrival as it has been a lonely 7 months, when I do get to speak to her it is over a scratchy connection that reminds me of the two cup and wire phones I used to make in elementary school. It’ll be nice to have her back in the States and back in my life, it is amazing how you don’t realize how important a person is to you until they are gone.
That is it, the list is predominately impossible but it is a Christmas list and they are supposed to be stuff that you won’t see under the tree. Enough of me being sappy and such, time to get back to business and accomplish some real stuff. Rather than ask one of my blogger friends to fill out this meme, I would REALLY love to hear what you guys, my readers, have to say. If it is just a list or an entire entry feel free to post it, I like user feedback and I could use some entertainment. Thanks for reading guys, happy holidays!
Good list. I don’t think Santa can bring you more time, though. I’ve already tried asking. Oh, and If you do happen to come out to Colorado let me know. :-)
