Command and Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars Demo Available
02.26.07 - 04:23pm
It seems like lately there has been a flurry of releases with demos and open betas. The enormous Command and Conquer franchise will be getting another addition with Tiberium Wars which looks to be a great counter-point to Supreme Commander. Funny how all the old games are coming back, Command and Conquer, Total Annihilation, maybe Starcraft? Either way here’s some links, I’m currently downloading from the FileFront link at a solid 250kb/sec. Once this finishes downloading and I finish my LOTRO preview I’ll begin playing with Command and Conquer. I can’t believe this, I JUST bought Supreme Commander on Saturday and I have yet to open the box due to having 3 different games in either beta or open demo. Enjoy, links below shouldn’t require a username/password.
I just wonder why /none/ of them ever use BitTorrent. Superior protocol for file distribution that bypasses the need for all this pay BS.
They actually do offer BitTorrent distribution clients but the amount of leachers to seeders is worse than other BitTorrented files. I actually tried to download this via BitTorrent and the estimated time after 30 minutes was 3.5 days while the actual download from FileFront took me 2 hours. I’d love to see BitTorrent used for patches, that would be ideal, as users connect and download the patch they will then distribute the patch amongst themselves. Once a large number of the user base has the patch downloaded, enable the patch. Wouldn’t take but a few additional hours and there would be no lines.
