Busy Times

I have a blog? *Gasp* Holy..carrots. Been so busy I’ve completely forgotten to post here so it’s time to catch up a bit. Lots of things have changed with the most important bit being that I am once again a full-time student. I’ve changed my major to Computational Media at Georgia Tech, estimates show that I’ll graduate Fall 2008 or Spring 2009, depending how slow I take it. I’m still in the process of signing up for classes but it’s just a matter of time till I get what I want. Paying for school was also just recently solved, I am officially in debt up to my eyeballs but there is a solution in the near future, more on that later. My Macbook is finally fixed!!! I spent roughly 3 weeks dealing with Seagate/Apple between one company saying the harddrive was warrantied, the other saying they won’t fix it, go talk to the other, etc. Finally I got fed up and just purchased a 120GB Seagate Momentus with a 5 year warranty. Now I’m going to thrash this harddrive so hard Seagate will have to replace it a few times to make up for this waste of time *evil*.
With my fresh OS X installation I was inspired to start working on a preliminary redesign, it’s been a few months but I’ve grown weary of this theme. I don’t exactly know what I want to do this time around but I definitely want something that flows smoothly and isn’t constrained by borders and screen limitations. It’ll probably be a few weeks before anything comes to fruition but patience is a virtue I’ve been cultivating as of late. In regards to development I just recently sold off one of my desktops so now I’m down to a desktop and a Macbook and it feels good. I liked having a dedicated server and a dedicated gaming/experimentation platform but with funds running low it was time to cut back. I’m even considering selling off this desktop as I really don’t need these parts for the time being.. will have to sleep on that.
I said I was busy and I wasn’t joking. I’ve been slaving away in the garage on multiple phase-change builds as I just recently opened my doors for “commercial” business. In the past I did odd jobs here and there, repair a suction line here, swap a compressor there, but I never really put myself out there. After 5 years I have finally turned my refrigeration hobbies into a money tree rather than pit. More on that will be announced in a bit along with a dedicated website and such.
That’s about it for right now, tomorrow I have given myself the day off so I’ll take the time to write some material and plan a few things out. Now it’s time to go watch Burn Notice and pretend I’m also a ex-spy in Miami with a beautiful ex-girlfriend helping me out.
First off grats!
Second, GPU RECOMMENDATIONS! I want an 8800 GTX baby but waiting until holiday. What say you on brand and/or if I should even by that time?
You’re famous, see here.
Hey Nadder, I’d say hold off on the 8800GTX if you are purchasing it towards the end of the year as G92, Nvidia’a new chip, will be out by then. It’s supposed to be a monster, should crush the GTX with one hand behind it’s back!
I’m rich bitch! According Rafael atleast, well.. famous. I took that and ran with it =)
