Gizmodo Acts Up At CES and Claims It

I enjoy a practical joke as much as the next guy, but are limits as to what is funny. I don’t know if the staff at Gizmodo knew where the line was on their TV-B-Gone prank at CES but they stomped the line into submission with this act. I feel bad giving them exposure for their antics but there isn’t any other way to get the word out. In the world of Engadget vs Gizmodo, this puts Gizmodo out of the running for my attention. Now pulling this prank and keeping it under wraps while laughing about it in private with your close friends would have been slightly acceptable but screwing over the Motorola presentation? Seriously? The Motorola guy handled it rather well though, he deserves a pat on the back. I hope somebody legally punches Gizmodo in the gut or at least slaps them on the wrist with an iron rod.

I really hope they get banned from CES or something. This is just so immature…

The part while people were walking around was funny, but in the presentation, that just crossed the line.

Even better, they could have done this prank at a retail store, airport, or sports event and the reaction would have been similar without the negative blowback they are receiving. Oh well, I’m sure it generated a ton of linkbacks and might have been the point.
