Electronic Arts Admits Error When Handling Developers
February 12th, 2008 at 17:27 under Gaming, News.It is a known fact that whenever EA swallows a company, rather than assist the developers to create a masterpiece, EA manages them into the ground resulting in lackluster titles. One of my favorite studios, Westwood Studios, was absorbed by EA and the resulting Command and Conquer games were so pathetic I chose to transport myself back to the 90’s so I could relive the glory days. Things may be turning over at EA though with EA CEO John Riccitiello admitting the error in their ways and the promise of reform. I appreciate this gesture but I hope they make do with their statement and we see a 180 degree switch in their management style. Now the next step needs to be a gradual shift towards increasing PC titles while maintaining current releases on consoles. Not related with EA but the lack of Halo Wars on the PC was like a gunshot through my gaming heart. RTS games belong on the PC and my lack of an Xbox 360 will force me to ignore this potentially awesome game. More PC Games please! Also in non-EA related news, Spore has an official launch date, celebrate and evolve!
